Starting After Five Years of Waiting
After five long years of wrestling with hesitation, perfectionism, and analysis paralysis, I finally did it—I hit record and stepped into the world of content creation. This moment isn’t just about launching a channel. It’s about stepping into a season of boldness, vulnerability, and clarity. If you’re new here, welcome. I want to take a few minutes to introduce myself and let you know what this channel is all about—and more importantly, why it matters to me.
My Background: From Uncertain Roots to the Military
I didn’t come from a clear-cut path or a long-standing family tradition of professionals. My childhood was marked by constant moves, instability, and a lack of structure. I had no consistent role models or mentors pointing me toward a future. When I graduated high school, I had no clue what I wanted to do. That uncertainty—and a desire to create stability—led me to the military.
I served in the United States Air Force as part of Security Forces—responsible for base defense, law enforcement, and handling everything from gate security to emergency responses. I did this for 11 years, across six deployments. Eventually, due to medical reasons, I was honorably retired. The moment I stepped away from military life, I was back in the same place I started: no roadmap, no guarantees, and no clear next step.
From Freelancer to Six Figures
After my military career ended, I stumbled into marketing almost by accident. I started freelancing—offering small businesses help with their websites, running Facebook ads, setting up email funnels, and making sense of their customer data. It wasn’t glamorous. I failed a lot. I undercharged. I overdelivered. I learned on the job. But over time, I built real experience—the kind you can’t get from a classroom or a certificate.
Eventually, my side hustle turned into a legitimate business. I crossed six figures in revenue, worked with dozens of clients, and began to find confidence in my voice and skill set. That season taught me something I wish more people understood: you don’t have to start with clarity to build something meaningful. Sometimes, you figure it out as you go, one imperfect action at a time.
Corporate Chapter: Building Inside Vedder Holsters
After a few years of freelancing, I joined Vedder Holsters as their social media manager. Over time, I moved into email marketing, website development, and broader brand strategy. As the team grew, I stepped into a leadership role. It’s been seven years now, and I’ve helped shape not just the marketing team, but the way we approach growth, brand presence, and customer experience.
But even as I found success in the corporate world, there was a part of me that never stopped wondering: What if I documented what I’ve learned? What if I could help someone else avoid the same mistakes? What if my story could actually mean something to someone else still trying to find their way?
Why I’m Finally Creating Content
For years, I let indecision keep me stuck. I couldn’t pick a niche. I didn’t know what format I’d commit to. I was afraid of wasting time—or worse, looking foolish. I thought I needed to have it all figured out before I started. But over time, I realized something that changed everything: clarity doesn’t come from thinking. It comes from doing.
This website isn’t about being an expert. It’s about showing up. It’s about documenting the real, behind-the-scenes journey of building something from scratch. This is my leap of faith—not because I have everything figured out, but because I’m finally done waiting to be perfect before I begin.
What You Can Expect Here
Expect transparency. Expect trial and error. Expect value from lived experience. I’ll be covering:
- Marketing tactics that actually work for small businesses, solopreneurs, and content creators.
- Lessons from my freelancing journey, including wins, failures, and what I learned the hard way.
- Faith and discipline—how I’ve applied biblical principles and personal development to stay grounded.
- Personal lifestyle experiments, like trying different diets, productivity systems, and health routines—and what they’ve taught me about long-term sustainability.
This content will evolve. I’ll follow what connects and adjust as I go. But every video will reflect the same core truth: this is real life, not a highlight reel.
Your Voice Matters
I want this to be a two-way conversation. If you’ve been thinking about launching something—whether a business, blog, YouTube channel, or anything creative—I want to hear from you. What’s holding you back? What have you tried so far? What’s the big idea you can’t stop thinking about?
Drop your questions and ideas in the comments. I’m building this with the community in mind, and your voice will help shape what this channel becomes. If you see a topic or tool mentioned that you want more depth on, let me know. I’ll do my best to make content that meets you where you’re at.
Final Thoughts
I’m not building this to be another “guru” channel. I’m here to share what’s real—hard-earned lessons, honest reflections, and practical insights from someone who’s still figuring it out. If something I’ve learned can help you build better, think clearer, or live with more discipline and peace—I want to share it.
Thank you for being here, whether you found me on day one or years down the line. I’m excited to walk this out with you, one post, one video, one honest step at a time. Let’s grow something real together.
